Insomnia Coffee opens Thursday

Insomnia Coffee Company will open a new store in Mullingar tomorrow, Thursday October 4.

Located on Pearse Street, this is Insomnia’s second store to be open in Westmeath and the first in Mullingar.

Insomnia Coffee Company has become an iconic Irish brand and is well known to coffee lovers across the country offering hot beverages, sandwiches and snacks. The company which started in 1997 has grown rapidly and now has over 150 stores including eighteen stores in the UK.

“I am delighted to open our first store in Mullingar, I’m sure this new shop in Pearse Street will be very popular and become a local hub,” Harry O’ Kelly, CEO of Insomnia, was speaking about the opening.

The store design reflects Insomnia’s coffee heritage whilst also taking and combining inspiration from vintage tea shops and industrial urban lofts.

A welcoming and comfortable space using fabrics and natural finishes punctuated with quirky and fun branding evokes a great ambience.

Wall features including teacup clocks with cups bought from second hand shops in the Liberties, Dublin. Alongside this is wall branding with coffee inspired messages, wall galleries and book shelves that operate a popular book swap system where apart from enjoying a book to read while having a coffee in store, customers can take a book away and all they have to do is leave a book to stay.

The store will provide employment for seven new members of staff.

Store manager, David, has previously worked with Insomnia as store manager in Athy, and he is looking forward to leading the new team in Mullingar. “Insomnia has a great work environment and friendly people,” he said.

The full Insomnia menu will be available including Insomnia Voyager coffee. For the first time in its 21-year history Insomnia Coffee Company introduced a new coffee.
